Dear Jane Austen,
I’m a tad annoyed with you for a number of reasons:
a) Sense and Sensibility and Emma are pretty much the exact same book, plus or minus a few characters.
b) Secret engagements are stupid. Is that the best, most enthrallingly shocking plot twist you could come up with?
c) You made me hate Frank Churchill, and for half the book I was enamored with him.
d) Why can’t anybody ever die, or elope, or you know, punch Mrs. Elton in the face? Reading about proper manners is so frustrating.
That’s enough of that. I’m going to go read Mansfield Park…I hear there’s more scandal.
